Sex coaching is the integration of clinical sexology knowledge with professional life coaching methodologies, specifically applied to sexual wellness, intimacy, and relationship enhancement. This program prepares graduates to work with clients in non-therapeutic, talk-based coaching relationships focused on sexual health, communication skills, goal achievement, and personal empowerment.
The Masters Degree in Sex Coaching is a formal, credit-bearing academic program with defined admission requirements, structured coursework, supervised practicum, and written examinations.

The core education component is structured across two levels of coursework: Sexology Foundations, which establishes the clinical and theoretical knowledge base, and Coaching Integration, which develops advanced applied skills across complex and specialized client presentations.
Sexology Foundations: 25 credits
Defining sex coaching as a distinct profession within sexology; scope of practice; key credentialing organizations. 2 credits.

Coaching Integration: 17 credits
Navigating Intimacy Through Life's Transitions
Evidence-based approaches to sexual health and intimacy in aging populations; specialized coaching strategies. 1 credit

Live Practicum: 6 credits
The practicum is the capstone of the program, the point where clinical knowledge and coaching methodology are demonstrated through supervised, real-world client work. It is a requirement for the Master's degree and carries significant weight in the overall program assessment.

What the practicum involves
Students complete a minimum of 8 hours of supervised coaching sessions across three distinct client types:
- An individual male-identified client
- An individual female-identified client
- One couple
For each client, students produce:
- Comprehensive case reports using the PLISSIT and MEBES© models
- Dynamic, individualized action plans
- An integrative essay of 1,800–2,500 words demonstrating competency across all client types
- A thorough self-assessment of knowledge, skills, and competency as a sex coach
All practicum sessions are conducted via Zoom and recorded for faculty review. Students do not work with clients independently during this phase. Faculty supervision and office hours are available throughout the practicum.
Upon Graduation
Students who complete the required 60 credits and pass all written and practical examinations with a minimum 85% average receive a Master of Science Degree in Sex Coaching from IICS.

These are professional credentials within the sexology and sex coaching field. They are not clinical licenses and do not permit the holder to practice as a licensed therapist or counselor. Sex coaches are trained to recognize when a client's needs fall outside their scope of practice and to refer appropriately.

The program operates on open enrollment. Once an application is approved, students may begin at any time. The entire program must be paid in full prior to receiving the degree or transcripts.

Payment plans are available. Students may negotiate monthly or quarterly arrangements at the time of registration. Standard options after tuition deposit of $600 include 8 quarterly payments ($2,085), 18 monthly payments (~$926), or 24 monthly payments ($695).
Admission requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- A professional license or certification in healthcare, medicine, or mental health from the relevant state or jurisdiction
or - An official transcript indicating proof of a bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, healthcare, human sexuality, humanities, education, or a related field
or - An official transcript indicating proof of a bachelor's degree in any field, combined with evidence of additional training, certification, or professional experience in human sexuality, coaching, counseling, healthcare, or nursing
Additional requirements
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (US) or international equivalent: 2:1 (UK), 6.0/10 or C+ (Europe), B+ (Singapore), Credit Average/65% (Australia)
- Two letters of recommendation from licensed professionals, supervisors, or faculty members able to speak to the applicant's ability to complete graduate-level coursework
- Completed student questionnaire and admissions interview
- New student orientation with the Director of Student Services prior to beginning classes
- International students may be required to submit a TOEFL score of 500 or above
Documents required
All required materials, including official undergraduate transcripts and letters of recommendation, must be submitted and approved before classes begin. Documents become the sole property of IICS and cannot be returned or forwarded to another institution.
Nikol Dekazou, MA, CSC, graduated with a Master's degree in Creative Writing, completing her dissertation on the phenomenological realities of human sexual experience. Based in Austin, Texas, she became a Board Certified Sexologist, Certified Sex Coach, and Sensate Focus specialist trained in the teachings of Masters and Johnson after studying under various leaders in the field. She has collaborated with DSD (Differently Sexed Disorders) charities and presented integrative mind-body therapy lectures to international sexology communities. Her creative writing background and clinical experience have informed the development of her pleasure-informed practice rooted in evidence-based sexology and holistic approaches. Nikol specializes in promoting psychosexual exploration through innovative, tailored methods that encourage authentic growth and healthy relationships. With extensive experience in organizational leadership and course management, she assumed the role of CEO at Sex Coach U in January 2025, succeeding co-founder Dr. Patti Britton while maintaining the institution's commitment to upholding the highest standards of sex coach training.
Dr. Norelyn Parker graduated with a PhD from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality and completed her certification at Sex Coach U. Based in Sacramento, California, she serves as a Certified Sex Coach at Maven Health Clinic while maintaining a private coaching practice where she combines advanced training in human sexuality and somatic approaches with her healthcare advocacy background. She has a particular interest in the mind-body connection and somatic wellness, bringing a comprehensive holistic approach to her work with individuals and couples. Her academic research has focused on intimacy within military relationships, which has expanded to encompass the unique challenges faced by couples in long-distance relationships. Dr. Parker has spent over a decade in private coaching practice helping clients navigate complex relationship dynamics and overcome barriers to intimacy. Her coaching approach is informed by her previous experience as a patient care advocate at a TMJ disorder clinic, where she developed expertise in exploring the intersection between orofacial pain and vulvar pain disorders. This specialized background allows her to bridge healthcare advocacy with clinical expertise, supporting clients in addressing both physical and emotional aspects of intimate wellness.
Jordan Vecchio, MA, CSC, graduated with a Master's degree in Psychology with a Specialization in Gender and Sexuality and serves as Business of Sexuality Specialists (BOSS) Curriculum Coordinator and Student Advisor at Sex Coach U. She is a Certified Sex Coach with multiple certifications in specialized clinical approaches for addressing relationship and sexological concerns. Jordan combines her expertise in sexology and psychology with her background in financial services and insurance to guide emerging sex coaches in establishing their practices. Her formal education is strengthened by early work as a research assistant and published writer. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, she has spent over seven years in private coaching practice helping high-achieving individuals and couples restore intimacy and sexual connection through her co-active, holistic approach emphasizing self-love, communication, and pleasure. She conducts both one-to-one coaching sessions and facilitates virtual and in-person workshops for clients seeking to enhance their intimate relationships.
Julia Satterlee, CSC, ABS, serves as Director of Curriculum & Student and Alumni Success at Sex Coach U and is the Founder of Pleasure Wise Wellness. She is a Certified Sex Coach and Board-Certified Sexologist through the American Board of Sexology, bringing over two decades of experience in adult education, sexuality education, and human rights advocacy. Julia oversees curriculum development at SCU, supports student progress as a Student Advisor, and strengthens alumni success within the thriving graduate community. Since 2019, she has coached individuals and couples, helping them cultivate confidence, connection, and pleasure from a shame-free, sex-positive foundation. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she has taught across cultures and contexts, demonstrating deep commitment to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for growth and exploration. Through Pleasure Wise Wellness, she offers private coaching, courses, webinars, and classes, blending research-based strategies with compassionate guidance to help clients overcome sexual shame and embrace intimacy as vital to health and well-being.
